Best credit cards for grocery shopping with maximum reward points in India?

Asked 8 Dec 2025·8934 views
I spend approximately ₹15,000 per month on groceries and run a household with my spouse. We currently use a basic HDFC debit card but want to switch to a credit card that gives maximum value back on grocery spending. We are open to annual fee cards if the rewards justify it. Which credit cards in India give the best cashback or reward points on supermarket and grocery store spending?

The HDFC Millennia Credit Card gives 5% cashback on Amazon, Flipkart, and many online grocery platforms with 1% fuel surcharge waiver. The annual fee is ₹500 which is waived if you spend ₹50,000 in a year. For offline groceries, the ICICI Amazon Pay Credit Card gives 1%无条件 cashback at any merchant.

Consider the American Express Platinum Travel Card — it gives 5x membership rewards on dining and grocery which can be redeemed for travel credits. Though the annual fee is ₹60,000, the lounge access and travel benefits make it worthwhile if you spend ₹2+ lakhs annually on groceries and dining.

Avoid cards that exclude grocery stores from reward categories — many banks classify supermarkets as utility merchants and exclude them. Always check the terms and conditions. TheSBI Card PRIME gives 5x points on groceries at select partner stores.
