Stack Welcome Bonuses Across Multiple Cards

Credit card welcome bonuses are one of the fastest ways to earn high-value rewards. The trick is to apply for cards at the right time and meet minimum spend requirements efficiently.
The trick: Stagger card applications so you can meet each card’s minimum spend requirement without overextending your monthly budget.
How it works:
- HDFC Infinia: 12,500 reward points (worth ₹12,500 in flights) on ₹12,500 spend in first 90 days. Easy to hit with any large purchase.
- Axis Magnus: 12,500 EDGE Miles (worth ₹10,000+) on ₹1L spend in first 90 days.
- Amex Platinum Reserve: 15,000 Membership Rewards points (worth ₹12,000+) on ₹1L in first 90 days.
- SBI Card Aurum: 10,000 bonus points (worth ₹10,000) on ₹2L spend in first 90 days.
- ICICI Emeralde: 4,000 points (worth ₹4,000) on ₹50K spend in first 90 days.
Step-by-step:
- Time your applications around large planned expenses (insurance premiums, travel bookings, electronics purchases).
- Spread applications 2–3 months apart so minimum spend windows don’t overlap.
- Use each new card for its minimum spend, then rotate to the next.
- Track all application dates and spend deadlines in a spreadsheet.
Annual value: 5 cards with ₹8,000–₹12,000 welcome bonuses each = ₹40,000–₹60,000 in first-year rewards, before counting ongoing spend rewards.
