Paytm Payments Bank — Account and Card
Paytm Payments Bank is a digital-first payments bank in India operated by One97 Communications, the parent company of the Paytm consumer fintech platform. It offers savings accounts with competitive interest rates, zero balance requirements for basic accounts, and a full range of digital banking services including UPI transfers, bill payments, and recurring deposits. The Paytm Payments Bank Card is a debit or credit card linked to the account, depending on the product variant, that allows users to withdraw cash from ATMs and make merchant payments both online and offline. One of the key advantages of a Paytm Payments Bank account is its deep integration with the broader Paytm ecosystem — users can seamlessly move funds between their bank account, Paytm wallet, and UPI handles, and earn cashback on transactions within the Paytm app. Deposits are insured by the DICGC up to ₹5 lakh per depositor. Paytm Payments Bank targets digital-first customers, students, freelancers, and users in smaller towns and cities who prefer managing their finances through a smartphone app. Credit cards issued in partnership with Paytm Payments Bank carry the Paytm branding and often include enhanced cashback on Paytm merchant transactions and utility bill payments.
