Sources & Citations
Every fact we publish links to a primary source. Below is the canonical list of authorities we cite.
Regulators
- Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Issues the Master Direction on Credit Cards (2022) and quarterly warnings to banks on mis-selling. We cite specific circulars when a fee or eligibility claim is anchored in a regulatory change.
- SEBI. Cited when comparing credit cards to financial instruments (insurance, mutual funds) for the Compare alternatives tables.
- IRDAI. Cited for the insurance bundling comparisons in card benefits (lost-card insurance, travel insurance add-ons).
Bank-published sources
For every card detail page, we cite:
- The bank's official product page
- The card's Key-Fact Statement (KFS) — when available
- The bank's Most-Fee Statement (MFS) — when available
- The bank's published customer-support number — when our verification requires a phone call (e.g. reward-redemption ratios)
Data sources we don't cite (and why)
- Bank marketing emails. Promotional rates often exclude fees we quote separately, which would mislead readers.
- Aggregator screenshots from other comparison sites. We cite the primary bank source, not a third-party summary.
- Wikipedia. Convenient but not authoritative for current bank terms.
